Channel list howto.

Receiver has build-in channels list which is restored after factory default. User can make own channels list, and go to Menu/Edit channel/ User Channels list, and save his channels list. After saving, user channels list replaces factory default channel list. Later you can restore your channels list, by Menu/Edit channel/ User Channels list/ Load user data.

How to change software

1. Download file from internet. Use files only from checked sources.
2. Unzip file to USB device. File format on USB must be .bin file.
3. Connect USB to PC, wait for USB initialization
4. Press USB file on remote
5. Find your file with new software, press ok on it
6. Receiver will pop-up message: do you really want to change software? You must choose YES, receiver will perform software upgrade
7. After finishing software upgrade, receiver will reboot with new software

User Channels database will be not changed after upgrade. You can upgrade it by USB in the same way as software upgrade.
Warning! After changing software you should enable internet functions again!

How to set AUTO DISEQC

It is always better to set Diseqc manually. If you don’t know your diseqc settings, do following:

1. Go to Menu/Antenna Setting/ Diseqc1.0, set to AUTO.
2. Scan something, TP or satellite. AutoDiseqc will detect your settings before starting to scan.
3. After finishing scan, you will see already your modified diseqc settings in Menu/Antenna Setting/ Diseqc1.0.

How to connect to Ethernet by cable.

1. Insert LAN cable.
2. reboot receiver
3. if your router has DHCP, you should see your Ethernet address in MENU/Expansion/IP Setting.
4. If you need to set IP address manually, simply write your Ethernet address, Address mask, and gateway, press OK on CONFIRM position
5. Press GREEN button to check connection to Ethernet. If you are connected you will see info: ” it is ok to connect to Ethernet”

How to set IP address by LAN:

1. go to MENU/Expansion IP setting
2. press red button to receive address by DHCP
3. press green button to test connection to ethernet
4. go to Confirm position, press OK on it.

How to connect WLAN dongle:

1. insert WLAN dongle to any USB port, frot or back. Front USB is working little better. If possible, use front USB.
2. after initialization ok, on receiver you will see messave: USB Wifi ready. from now Wifi menu will be automatically displayed in MENU/EXpansions/ Wireless setting WARNING! after installing USB Wifi, Ethernet connection by LAN cable will not be possible. Ethernet Cable connection will be switched off.
3. go to MENU/Expansions/ Wireless setting/ Search Access Point. you will see list of available wireless networks.
4. choose your network. if network is password protected, you will have to input password.
5. go to MENU/Expansions/ Wireless setting/ IP setting to adjust IPO address or test connection.

How to enable patch :

press F1, on display will blink "H" then press 000 you can access keys by MENU/Installation/ Patch menu

How to enable ethernet features:

press F1 on display will blink "H" then press 111 choose Enable ethernet. receiver will reboot go to then go to MENU/Expansion/ Server How to use Premiere Option channels: press F4 on channel with option channels.

How to set server connection:

in receiver:

1. make sure your ethernet is turned on (F1+000), and Ethernet connection is OK.
2. go to MENU/Expansion/ Server.
3. input server settings. WARNING! After writing server settings, it is not possible to read them. make sure you write correct settings.
4. after connection to the server you will see :”connected “ in server menu.

1. run program server_tool_X405_X406_8M.exe
2. input your server parameters, press SAVE, save your .bin file with server settings.
3. load .bin file with server settings to USB.
4. connect USB to receiver,
5. press USB button on remote, choose your .bin file with server settings, press OK, confirm.
6. receiver will load the file and reboot. after reboot, receiver will have new server settings in MENU/Expansion/Server. WARNING!!! All previous server settings will be erased.

How to check available CAS on specific channel?

Press F1+222, it display all CAS of specific channel.

How to make NEWCAMD server from receiver and share one card?

This enable to share one card between many X405 or X406, and also other receivers which support NEWCAMD protocol.. To set-up server:

1. Load software 1.07.4815 or newer.
2. Put card in card reader slot.
3. Use special sw., press F1+111, enable internet
4. Go to Menu/ Expansion/ IP setting to set IP address. Recommended to set IP manually, it will avoid address change after your router restart. Remember your server IP.
Warning! When using more X405 X406 in one LAN network, you might need to change MAC address.
It is possible that all receivers will have the same MAC address, and it will cause conflict. It is important.
Change MAC address by simply clicking on it. First 4 digits are not editable, rest of digits are editable.
5. Also in IP setting menu, there is position INTERNAL PORT. Remember this value.
6. In MENU/ Settings/ System Settings change option DEEP STANDBY to OFF. Then if you don’t watch tv on your server and turn it off, receiver will stir work for your clients.
7. In MENU/Timer turn off option AUTO POWER DOWN. Your server will not turn off automatically after 3 hours.
8. Go to menu EXTRAS/ Homeshare/, you have following options:

3. Choose SERVER TYPE: NewCS
4. On position IP/URL write your server IP address
5. On position TCP port write your server INTERNAL PORT number
6. On position DES key, write: 0102030405060708091011121314
7. On position User name, write:3
8. On position Password, write:3 ( you can connect many clients with the same username:3 and password:3, receiver not verify it)
9. Press OK on Confirm position. Client will connect to server.
